When will CMs learn that the job is not about them.There is no friendship with customers only acquaintances and crossing the line to joking with or about customers is one step away from “Me! It’s all about ME! What the Hell is wrong with you people! I’m a people person God Damn it! I have people skills!”.
There is no casual conversation when you are a Community relations person. There are only facts, problems and opportunities to address professionally. If you can't handle that, then Community Relations is not for you.
I hate to be insulting but in all honesty being in Customer Relations on a gaming forum is probably the easiest customer relations job on earth... You seriously have no idea how easy the job is when you can just "ban" a customer from speaking.
Gaming Customer Relations is the baby pool of customer relations compared to Customer Relations on the rest of the planet. Try standing near any bigbox stores customer returns counter for 15 minutes. Visit an Air Port counter for an hour... Try being a waiter...
I'm pretty much sick of the "This job is so hard" BS from gaming people. The job is easy.
