    29 December 08 - 02:12Windows XP Goes BOOM!

Windows XP did a fine job crashing just before Christmas.  "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000135"

Oddly enough, the normal fix for this is to reinstall Windows XP.  I know you're shocked.  I was.

So I'm going to boot to a Ubuntu CD, get as much data saved as I can and install Ubuntu 8.10 and then create another partician and install Windows XP.  I'm never going to be so lazy again as to NOT:

    1. create a data partician seperate from my Operating partician(s).

    2. Create a dual boot  machine with Linux and Windows.

This isn't about being cool.  It's about being smart.  It I lost valuable time I need to create a report for work (two days) by not having a dual boot system.  You see I was in an apartment away from home with my desktop and my work laptop the work laptop of course is locked tighter than a drum and I can't burn CDs etc with it.  I had to go home and burn the Ubuntu CD.

Lesson learned.  Desk top or Lap top make it dual boot.
