The Site was born on the old forums after I and others were banned from the original lum the mad site for pointing out that his "rants" were changing due to his job seeking late in 2000 and early 2001. We acquired a domain of lumthemad.org and started out on ezboard. The site grew by leaps and bounds when we were given the dishonor of being eldins sounding board after he played a part in the meltdown of slownewsday in 2002. The ezboard fees skyrocketed and we moved to a new domain and our own board.

Over time we became a MMO game discussion site acquired a domain of thisisnotacomunity.org in the spring of 2002 and we grew in popularity. During the summer of 2003 we were getting nearly 30k hits per day. Shortly there after the domain of thisisnotacommunity.org was DNS pirated and used to advertise Viagra. We were reborn as thisisnotacommunity.com. That site too began to get upwards of 20k hits per day and subsequently DNS pirated again by the same people who stole thisisnotacommunity.org.

In 2005 thisisnotacommunity.org was released and as we were being mocked on thecesspit for being ganked we were reborn again. This time we locked the DNS and started again, commenting on MMO gaming. Quickly our hit count went up and our host locked us. We switched from the old CGI script and host and moved to the PHP format you now see.
